Bansander AFP was founded in 1992 as the pension fund of the Grupo Santander, creating innovative solutions for serving the market with an emphasis on customer service and introduction of new technological tools for provision of information to high net-worth clients.
A milestone for the company occurred on May 13, 1998, when the Grupo Santander acquired AFP Summa, a pioneer of the Chilean private pension plan system, to become Summa Bansander, the 5th AFP in the market. The acquisition involved enormous efforts on the part of the staffs of each company, and ultimately brought excellent results given the high degree of operational and technical quality with which the merger was carried out.
Finally, in March 2005, the brand was renamed Bansander AFP, favoring the association with the name of the financial conglomerate. Bansander is a very well known company in the market due to the excellent results of its management, which is focused on keeping its customers as satisfied as possible, which has enabled it to cultivate the image of a modern, efficient and innovative AFP.
Today Bansander AFP has the backing of Grupo Santander Chile, which began its activities in our country in 1978, and has been outstanding for its successful track record of growth and profitability.
Based on the need to incorporate all of its legislative requirements related to voluntary pension plan contributions, changes between funds, allocation of funds and changes of AFP, Ki Teknology was invited to participate in the launching of the project.
First there was a requirement for a robust solution that would support online fund transfers with a system of security in line with market needs. By law, the system would require a double authentication with verification and management outside the AFP (PREVIRED).
The main dificulties of this project were communication with Previred, since what was needed was business to business communication to obtain the double security validation, and the short time that the AFP had available to implement these features.
The first phase of the project consisted of analyzing the means of communcation between the AFP and Previred to resolve the problem of duplicate security.
Then the prototypes were developed for all features and the data requirements analysis performed for the communication interfaces between the central database of the AFP and Previred.
Finally, we proceeded to the generation of all the business transactions for all features and the testing cycles were begun.
The principal benefit of this solution is that it allows Bansander to meet the legal requirements in the short term and gives it flexibility to adapt its systems to withstand changes in its business.
The use of KTF leaves the AFP prepared to include all of the channels related to these features, and to be channeled through this Middleware.
Having KTF as a Middleware makes Bansander independent of the origins of the data and external validations, without interfering with its own development.
